– The Paso Robles Senior Center is asking residents to donate gently used jewelry for its Semi-Annual Jewelry Sale. The sale will help raise funds for center programs and activities, which remain free to the community despite recent funding cuts.
Donations of unused jewelry are being accepted at the Paso Robles Senior Center, located at 270 Scott Street, throughout March, April, and May. The “All That Glitters” Jewelry Sale will run from June 2 to June 30.
Elaine Ernst, Coordinator of the Senior Center, emphasized the importance of fundraising for the center’s continued operations. “All the classes, activities, and events at PRSC are free, and fundraising makes this possible,” Ernst said. Last year, funds raised from the jewelry sale were used to purchase a new water dispenser and table coverings. This year, the goal is to replace worn furnishings in the dining room.
The Paso Robles Senior Center offers a range of free classes and services through the Cuesta College Emeritus Program, including art, yoga, and iPad classes. Additionally, one-on-one computer training and various card games such as Mah Jongg and Mexican Train are available. Nutritious meals are also served through the “Meals that Connect” program.
