Paso Robles police arrest driver after vehicle pursuit
Driver arrested and booked at San Luis Obispo County Jail
– Officers from the Paso Robles Police Department arrested a man following a vehicle pursuit on Spring Street on March 29, according to a press release from the police department.
Police responded to a report of a possible impaired driver traveling in the center of the roadway on Spring Street. Officers located and stopped the vehicle in the 400 block of Spring Street.
During the stop, the driver fled northbound on Spring Street. Officers pursued the vehicle into the downtown area and attempted to box it in, but were reportedly unsuccessful.
Shortly after, officers deployed spike strips, successfully stopping the vehicle in the 1200 block of Spring Street. The driver, identified as 27-year-old Luis Urrea of San Diego, was taken into custody.
Urrea was arrested on suspicion of reckless evasion and booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
