Atascadero Community Band donates to ALF Food Pantry

Donation was made possible through contributions from the band’s audience during a recent concert

    – The Atascadero Community Band recently donated $1,106.28 to ALF Food Pantry, a local organization that provides food assistance to individuals and families in the Atascadero area. The check was presented on March 19 to ALF Board President Tim Eckles and Wednesday morning lead Barbara Waheed by Atascadero Community Band President Joyce Rabellino.

The donation was made possible through contributions from the band’s audience during a recent concert titled “Dynamic Duos.” The performance featured music inspired by well-known pairs, including Batman and Robin, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and Hamilton and Burr.

“The Atascadero Community Band is all about bringing people together,” Rabellino said. “Whether you’re playing with us in the band or you’re part of our outstanding loyal audience, we can support meaningful causes like ALF Food Pantry, ensuring that everyone in our community has access to food and resources.”

The band’s next performance, “Maestra, Music from Women,” will take place on May 4 at 3 p.m. at Atascadero Bible Church. The concert will feature music from female composers and arrangers. Admission, parking, and refreshments will be free, and donations will be accepted to benefit the San Luis Obispo Youth Symphony.
