Protest planned at San Luis Obispo courthouse over judicial system, public programs

Event part of nationwide movement addressing judicial and public policy issues

    – A protest advocating for the judicial system and various public programs is scheduled for April 5 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the San Luis Obispo Courthouse, located at 1050 Monterey Street.

The event, titled “Hands Off Our Courts,” is part of a nationwide day of protest. Organizers include 50501, Indivisible, and the San Luis Obispo County Democrats. Participants plan to gather at courthouses across the country to voice concerns over political influence on the judiciary and funding cuts to public services.

Organizers say the protest aims to highlight issues including education, veterans’ benefits, Medicaid, national parks, fair elections, and consumer protections.

For more information on local participation or volunteering opportunities, organizers encourage interested individuals to attend the event.
