    June 21, 1950 – March 11, 2025

    Atascadero, California

    – With heaviest of hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Christopher Louis Rounds, a remarkable man whose legacy lives on in the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the lives he touched.

Born in Michigan and raised in California, Chris was the kind of man who could truly do it all. The highest of skilled carpenter and artist, he could build anything from the ground up: homes, furniture, go carts, art pieces – dream sand poured his heart into every project he touched. He lived his life with a passionate devotion to craftsmanship, precision, and beauty.

He was a Navy veteran, and the only person we know who flew in an F-4 Phantom. An adventurer at heart, he hang-glided, surfed the California coast, and found joy in the skies, the ocean, and the mountains. He loved taking us camping at Wishon, skiing with us as kids, and roaring through the desert on dirt bikes. He built Christopher’s first truck with him with his own hands, teaching mechanics, grit, and how to never give up.

Dad had a great love for cars, especially his Porsche and Austin-Healey Spriteand a lifelong respect for physical fitness. As a young man, he was an incredible gymnast and athlete, famously doing 250 push-ups in one go.

He was also our coach, and our rock. He was our soccer coach for many years. He attended every one of our football games and track meets – he never missed a moment. His dedication to us, Christopher and Bradley, was unwavering. He helped shape us into the men we are today.

He had a neat and meticulous spirit, a deep sense of persistence, and a heart so big he would give the shirt off his back without hesitation. His constant companion and one true love in later years was his loyal dog, Shelby, who will also be missed heavily, yet we know you are together now.

Dad spent time living in beautiful Kauai, always chasing sunlight and the perfect tan. His love for life, his deep compassion, and his infectious enthusiasm will be missed beyond measure.

We take comfort in knowing we’ll see you again in the heavens Dad. Until then, we will carry your spirit with us on every hike, every wave, every mountain, every desert ride, and every wrench we turn.

    We love you forever, Dad.

    Christopher and Bradley.

I worked with Chris way back in mid 80’s for Rarig Const on a house salvage in See Canyon for about 4 months. He elevated my trade craft to a higher level. Everything said in here is true according to my experience. Probably be seeing you soon old compadre.
