Letter: Paso Robles students shine in Hadestown Teen Edition

    letter to the editor

    To the editor,

    – I had the privilege of attending the Paso Robles High School Theater Company’s production of Hadestown Teen Edition, and I am compelled to express my highest admiration for this remarkable performance. The music, acting, choreography, and dancing were truly superlative, showcasing the immense talent of these young artists. It almost felt as though Broadway had come to Paso Robles.

A special shout-out is due to faculty director Marcy Keyser-Goodnow, choreographer Courtney Brock, and vocal director Regan Rowans, whose expertise and dedication clearly shaped this extraordinary production. Their guidance, paired with the hard work of the student actors and stage crew, brought the hauntingly beautiful world of Hadestown to life in a way that was both captivating and moving.

The story, based on Greek mythology, resonates deeply with modern themes: authoritarianism, class struggle, faith, doubt, sacrifice, and redemption. It explores powerful emotional metaphors of love and loss, despair and hope, isolation and connection; all elements that strike a chord with our world today. This production not only entertained but also provoked thought and reflection, making it an experience I won’t soon forget.

For those who have not yet seen it, I highly recommend attending one of the final performances next weekend, April 11, 12, and 13. It is an exceptional showcase of talent and artistry that you won’t want to miss. Kudos to everyone involved in bringing this extraordinary production to life!

    Don Volle, Paso Robles
