Hope Family Wines hospitality director honored with Travel Paso award

Award was presented May 8 during the Travel Paso Tourism Round Up

Travel Paso has awarded Jo Armstrong of Hope Family Wines the 2025 Visitor Experience Award in the Winery category. Armstrong, who serves as Director of Hospitality, was recognized for her work in creating guest experiences described as “above and beyond expectations.” The award was presented May 8 during the Travel Paso Tourism Round Up.

The annual award honors Paso Robles hospitality professionals who demonstrate consistent dedication to guest service and support the vision of Travel Paso, the official destination marketing organization for the region.

“Jo is a hospitality rockstar who goes all out for our guests and sets a high bar in the wine industry,” said Owner-Winemaker Austin Hope. “She continually exceeds expectations with her unmatched combination of personal warmth, people skills, creative thinking and relentless attention to detail. It’s high time Jo was in the spotlight herself and we are grateful to Travel Paso for recognizing her contributions to the local tourism community.”

Armstrong joined Hope Family Wines in 2019. Since then, she has led the transformation of the Austin Hope & Treana Tasting Cellar, and helped launch Hope on Park, a new tasting room in downtown Paso Robles, in the summer of 2024.

“This award is meaningful to me because it’s so much a part of my ‘why’ and what I do, which is create experiences that leave guests with lifelong memories and new reasons to fall in love with Paso Robles,” Armstrong said. “This is a team sport—I have an amazing team and the award is as much about them as it is about me.”

Armstrong has more than 25 years of hospitality experience on the Central Coast. Originally from Dallas, she studied business at the University of Colorado before moving to San Luis Obispo. Her background includes executive roles in travel, special events and wine, as well as founding her own international event management company.

In her current role, Armstrong oversees both of the winery’s tasting rooms and manages the winery’s direct-to-consumer operations, including the wine club and the digital creative team.
