Former high school assistant principal steps into districtwide role

    – The Paso Robles Joint Unified School District has announced the appointment of Rachel Gustafson as the new coordinator of student services, effective July 1.

Gustafson will support Leanor Buza, the district’s new director of student services.

Since 2022, Gustafson has served as an assistant principal at Paso Robles High School. In that role, she focused on building relationships with students, staff and families, and supported a collaborative and proactive school environment.

In her new position, Gustafson will lead the district’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports system, oversee student attendance initiatives, and support the implementation of district-wide discipline policies. She will work with site leaders and support the director of student services to help ensure all students have access to a safe, supportive, and equitable learning experience.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to support all school sites in their efforts to serve students,” Gustafson said. “I look forward to continuing to build strong connections and working with staff across the district to drive positive outcomes for all students.”

I would like to know how we will balance the budget with all these admin hires? How many teachers and teacher aides will receive pink slips? The last superintendent had a serious hiring administrator problem that got us in this financial conundrum. Typically administrators do little or nothing to help learning in the classroom.

At least there is one person out their who thinks the same as I do.
