Scholarships awarded to eight local high school seniors
Scholarship recipients were recognized at Travel Paso’s Tourism Round Up Event on May 8
– Travel Paso awarded $20,000 in scholarships to eight high school seniors from North County through its newly established Travel Paso Scholarship Fund, the organization announced May 14.
The fund, managed by The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County, was created to support students in the Paso Robles region, with a focus on those from families working in the tourism and hospitality industries. Each student received a $2,500 scholarship to support higher education costs including tuition, books, housing and other qualified expenses.
“The new scholarship program is one of the goals set forth by the Board of Directors and is now a reality,” said Stacie Jacob, president and chief executive officer of Travel Paso. “Awarding scholarships is another example of why tourism matters in Paso Robles and how Travel Paso supports our community.”
The scholarship recipients were recognized at Travel Paso’s Tourism Round Up Event on May 8.
