    – Templeton Library will launch its Summer Reading Program, Dive Into Reading, on Tuesday, June 10. The program is open to young readers ages 3 to 18. Participants can pick up a timesheet at the library to start reading as soon as school closes.

Prizes will be awarded for every 80 minutes spent reading or being read to. Tickets for a grand prize drawing on Aug. 8 at 2 p.m. will also be given for each completed segment. Two bikes and a GiBoard donated by Janice and Steve Tollefson will be given away along with other prizes.

The program was created by Templeton Library staff and volunteers to encourage local young readers to learn about marine life and outdoor activities while school is out. The library has purchased and received donations of children’s and young adult books about marine life. Small prizes such as Lego kits, art supplies and toys have been provided by an anonymous local donor.

Templeton Library is funded entirely by donations and operates with one paid part-time employee and a team of volunteers. The library receives no county, state or federal funding.
