    – Runners, walkers, and families can join a free community 5K on July 4 hosted by the Templeton Run Club in partnership with the Rotary Club of Templeton. Check-in will open at 6:30 a.m. next to the Templeton Park gazebo, and the race will begin at 7 a.m.

The out-and-back course winds along Templeton’s oak-lined streets before finishing under the heritage oaks of Templeton Park, just hours before the town’s Templeton 4th of July Parade.

“We wanted an inclusive, healthy way for neighbors and visitors to start the holiday together,” said Rosalie, president of the Templeton Run Club. “Whether you’re chasing a personal best or pushing a stroller, this race is for everyone.”

The event is free due to volunteer support and sponsorship from the Rotary Club of Templeton.

“Service and community are at the heart of both our organizations,” said Nicol Zundel, Rotary Club of Templeton president. “We welcome runners of all ages and abilities, while spotlighting Rotary’s scholarship and youth-leadership programs that the day’s festivities ultimately support.”

Participants are encouraged to wear patriotic colors, bring reusable water bottles, and arrive early for warm-up stretches. Finisher ribbons, light refreshments and post-race cheer will be available at the finish line.

Registration is available online at www.templeton4thjulyparade.com/5krun, with same-day sign-ups accepted on a space-available basis starting at 6:30 a.m. Pre-registration is recommended.

The Templeton Run Club promotes healthy, inclusive running experiences on the Central Coast through group runs, races, and community outreach.

Founded in 2001, the Rotary Club of Templeton funds college and vocational scholarships, youth-leadership programs and local service projects, including hosting the annual Templeton 4th of July Parade.
