Local theater to present ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’
By the Sea brings Wilde’s comedy to local stage
– By the Sea Productions will present Oscar Wilde’s comedy “The Importance of Being Earnest,” directed by Jean Miller, from June 13 to June 29 at 545 Shasta Ave. in Morro Bay.
The play explores confusion and mistaken identities when two young men both assume the name Earnest to woo two women outside their social class. The cast includes Topher Lyons, Wren Hall, Jonah Duhe and Perri Gandy as the couples. Janice Lamont plays a governess, Laurelle Kelty plays a reverend, Laura Richie portrays a snooty society maven, and Landen Scott plays two butlers.
