    North County residents join national ‘No Kings’ protest

    – Residents of Atascadero gathered for the “No Kings: Protect Our Democracy” event on Saturday, June 14, as part of a national day of mass mobilization. The event took place from 10 to 11 a.m. at the intersection of El Camino Real and Morro Road.

    According to the Atascadero Democratic Club, 12.1 million people attended “No Kings” protests across the country. The club stated, “We made it past the 3.5% required for change to happen. 12.1 million people across the country attended the No Kings protests, and that doesn’t count the small towns.”

    The Alt National Park Service reported turnout in multiple cities, including Ocean Beach in San Francisco, Boise, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Louisville, Fort Worth, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Napa, Hudson, Atlanta, Naples, Nashville, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Houston, York, Lincoln, Portland, Los Angeles, Seattle, Denver, Madison, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Austin, San Diego, Baltimore, Detroit, Charlotte, Tampa, Boston, Providence, New Haven, Albany, Raleigh, Columbus, Indianapolis, Kansas City and New Orleans.
