Radio station hosting fundraiser screening of ‘A Hard Day’s Night’

    – The Rock Community Radio will host a special fundraiser screening of A Hard Day’s Night, the iconic Beatles film, on Monday, July 21, at 6 p.m. at the Bay Theatre, located at 464 Morro Bay Blvd. Doors will open at 5 p.m. All proceeds from the event will support The Rock Community Radio, a non-profit, non-commercial public radio station broadcasting on 97.3 FM and 107.9 FM.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential musical films of all time, A Hard Day’s Night captures The Beatles during the height of “Beatlemania.” Directed by Richard Lester, the film follows John, Paul, George, and Ringo through a fictionalized day in their lives, filled with humor, charm, and timeless songs. The screening offers a rare chance to experience the beloved classic on the big screen, providing a nostalgic evening for Beatles fans of all ages.

“We are incredibly excited to bring this cinematic masterpiece back to the big screen for such a worthy cause,” said The Rock founder Hal Abrams. “The Beatles’ music transcends generations, and this film is a joyous celebration of their impact. We believe it’s the perfect way to bring the community together while supporting The Rock.”

In addition to the film screening, attendees can participate in a costume contest for the best ‘60s attire, enjoy a raffle, and sample beer from Firestone Walker and locally produced wine. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at TheRockCommunityRadio.org, my805tix.com, or at the door. Seating is limited, and early ticket purchase is recommended.

Proceeds from the event will directly benefit The Rock Community Radio, helping sustain freeform public radio on the Central Coast.
