– The California Mid-State Fair will hold its Opening Day Ceremonies on Wednesday, July 16 at 3:45 p.m., inviting the public to attend the celebration and enjoy free carnival rides throughout the day.
The event will take place at the fair’s main entrance and will include a rope drop ceremony, appearances by the 2024 Miss California Mid-State Fair Pageant Court, and roving entertainers.
Attendees can expect live music, bubble machines, a magician, and a unicyclist. Carnival rides will be free for the day, and no wristband is required.
As a thank-you, the first 100 guests will receive one complimentary admission ticket valid for any other day of the 2025 fair, a bag of kettle corn, and a commemorative 2025 California Mid-State Fair button.
The fair runs from July 16 through July 27 at 2198 Riverside Avenue in Paso Robles. It will feature headlining concerts, family entertainment, livestock shows, food competitions, shopping and other activities.
This year’s theme, “Off to the Races!,” will be featured throughout the fairgrounds, buildings, and exhibits. The Ponderosa Pavilion will include a special exhibition highlighting the period when the Paso Robles Event Center, formerly known as the San Luis Obispo County Fairgrounds, hosted horse racing.
