‘High Tide’ exhibit showcases Central Coast artists at Cuesta College
Exhibition opens July 18 and runs through Aug. 22
– The Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery at Cuesta College will open its new group exhibition, High Tide, on July 18 with a reception from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The exhibition features more than 60 local artists and emphasizes community, artistic connection and collaboration along California’s Central Coast.
Each artist in the exhibition nominated another local artist they admire, forming a curatorial chain intended to reflect the regional network of creative relationships. The gallery describes this structure as a community-driven curatorial method designed to showcase local friendships and mutual artistic appreciation.
“High Tide is all about celebrating the amazing community and vibrant arts scene along California’s Central Coast,” said Tim Stark, Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery coordinator. “It’s a chance for local artists to support each other – each artist invites a fellow artist they admire, creating a wave of appreciation and connection. It shows how collaboration and friendship fuel our creative spirit and keep our artistic community thriving.”
The exhibition will run through Aug. 22, with a closing celebration set for Aug. 14 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery is located in Room 7170 on Cuesta College’s San Luis Obispo campus. Admission is free. Parking is complimentary in Lot 2 during gallery events. Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and by appointment.
