Travel Paso brings wine tasting to Los Angeles farmers markets
Six Paso wineries featured at weekly tasting events
– Travel Paso and The Original Farmers Market are partnering to bring a Paso Robles wine experience to Los Angeles each Thursday in August.
The pop-up, part of the Farmers Market’s Summer Music Series, will take place Aug. 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Plaza area near the Clock Tower. The address is 6333 West 3rd Street. The music series will run each Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Visitors will be offered complimentary wine samples from Paso Robles wineries, the chance to speak with Paso locals and the opportunity to enter a sweepstakes to win one of three trips to Paso Robles.
Bar 326 at the Farmers Market will feature a dedicated Paso Robles wine menu throughout August, allowing guests to purchase glasses of wine from participating producers.
“The Original Farmers Market is a great venue for Paso Robles to host its summer campaign — Let’s Go to Paso,” said Stacie Jacob, president and CEO of Travel Paso. “Paso Robles is a 3.5-hour drive away, making it the perfect getaway for Angelenos looking to escape the city, retreat to rural California and connect to a community filled with makers and innovators.”
Wineries offering samples include Bodega de Edgar, Hope Family Wines, Linne Calodo, McPrice Myers, Robert Hall and Thacher.
Guests can enter the sweepstakes online at travelpaso.com. The grand prize, valued at over $3,000, includes a $1,000 lodging credit, four glow passes to the Sensorio immersive art installation, and private tastings at the six participating Paso Robles wineries.
The second prize, valued at $1,000, includes two VIP tickets to the Paso Wine Fest Grand Tasting on May 16 at the Paso Robles Event Center and a $500 lodging credit.
The third prize, valued at $850, includes two tickets to the Whale Rock Music Festival on Sept. 13 at Castoro Cellars, a $250 lodging credit and a Paso in a Box gift bundle.
Paso Robles officials selected The Original Farmers Market for the pop-up location due to its history and visibility. The venue, known as “LA’s Living Room,” has operated since 1934 and has hosted celebrity visitors such as Marilyn Monroe and the Beatles. The market features a mix of produce stalls, local food vendors and family entertainment, and is adjacent to The Grove Shopping Center.
“We couldn’t think of a better partner for our Summer Music Series than Travel Paso,” said Ilysha Buss, director of marketing and communications for The Original Farmers Market. “The Market has always taken great pride in featuring the best of California and the wine selection at Bar 326 is a terrific example. We are excited to invite our customers to sample the best of Paso’s wineries during our summer music series, making for a truly quintessential Los Angeles summer evening out.”
Scheduled music performances for August include Tom Kenny and the Hi-Seas on Aug. 7, the Memphis Kings on Aug. 14, Pino Noir on Aug. 21 and Sangre Nueva on Aug. 28. The lineup is subject to change.
