City to close South River Road on Aug. 5 for maintenance, storm preparation
Crews will remove soil to create storm runoff buffer zone
– The City of Paso Robles Public Works Street Division will close South River Road between the 13th Street Bridge and Navajo Avenue on Aug. 5 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for roadway maintenance and storm preparation.
The work is scheduled ahead of the new school year and the wet season. Crews will remove about four feet of soil from the edge of the road to create a buffer zone. The buffer will allow natural runoff and hillside debris to collect off the roadway, reducing hazards to motorists and lowering maintenance needs during storm events.
The city will close the roadway in both directions during the work hours. Officials advised motorists to use alternate routes and expect additional travel time.
City utility crews will also conduct hydrant flushing in the area to confirm proper operation of the water supply infrastructure.
