Annual stair climb honors 9/11 firefighters

Participants climb 1,980 steps carrying 45 pounds of gear

    – The Paso Robles Fire Department will participate in the third annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Paso Robles Event Center, also known as the Mid-State Fairgrounds.

The event pays tribute to the 343 firefighters and thousands of others who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. Participants will climb 1,980 steps while carrying 45 pounds of gear in honor of the first responders.

Organizers said the event is an opportunity for the community to come together to remember, honor and support those affected by the events of 9/11.

All proceeds benefit Champ Camp through the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation.

Registration and donation information is available at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0445A9AB2BA3F58-57522173-911.
