Update: Missing Paso Robles man found deceased in Kern County
Update posted Aug. 23:
– Caltrans personnel located the vehicle of missing Paso Robles resident David Peterson on Aug. 21 in a ravine in rural western Kern County, near State Route 58 and 7 Mile Road, according to a press release from the Paso Robles Police Department.
PRPD investigators responded and discovered a deceased male inside the 2014 Honda Ridgeline, believed to be Peterson.
The case began on Aug. 7, when a neighbor reported Peterson, 86, missing. A statewide Silver Alert was issued through the California Highway Patrol, and investigators immediately began pursuing leads. Detectives later learned Peterson left his home on the evening of Aug. 5 between 9:37 p.m. and 10:36 p.m.
No foul play is suspected, according to the PRPD. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances of the collision.
The Paso Robles Police Department expressed gratitude to the businesses, residents and friends who assisted in the effort to locate Peterson.

Silver Alert issued for missing Paso Robles man David Peterson
– The Paso Robles Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for 86-year-old David Peterson and is asking for the public’s help in locating him.
Peterson was last seen Aug. 4 in the 2800 block of Wedgewood Court in Paso Robles. He is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black quilted jacket and green and black camouflage cargo shorts.
Peterson is believed to be driving a white 2014 Honda Ridgeline with California license plate 99438D1.
Anyone who has seen Peterson or knows his whereabouts is asked to contact the Paso Robles Police Department at (805) 237-6464.
