Daou, Sextant win top honors at Winemakers’ Cookoff
Proceeds benefit the Harlow Ford Scholarship Fund for local high school seniors
– The Rotary Club of Paso Robles hosted the 26th annual Winemakers’ Cookoff on Aug. 9 at the Paso Robles Event Center, 2198 Riverside Ave.
The event, open to guests age 21 and older, featured wine and food pairings from participating wineries in the Paso Robles region and live music. Proceeds benefit the Harlow Ford Scholarship Fund for local high school seniors.
Since its inception, the Winemakers’ Cookoff has raised more than $1 million for youth scholarships. The Rotary Club awarded $100,000 in scholarships this year, following $90,000 awarded last year.
Winners were announced in four categories:
Peoples’ Choice — First place: Daou; second place: Derby; third place: Eberle; honorable mention: Hoyt.
Judges’ Award — First place: Sextant; second place: Bovino; third place: J. Lohr; honorable mention: Ecluse.
Professional Chef — First place: Vina Robles; second place: Bianchi; third place: Cal Coast; honorable mention: Ancient Peaks.
Spirit Award — First place: Hoyt; second place: Derby; third place: My Favorite Neighbor.
