– Sensorio has announced an open call for artists, designers, and creators to submit proposals for new outdoor installations at the Paso Robles art destination.
The open-air venue has more than 20,000 square feet of exhibit space available and is seeking works that combine light and landscape, designed specifically for nighttime use. This is the first international call for exhibit proposals hosted by Sensorio.
Since opening in 2019, Sensorio has featured exhibits including Field of Light and Light Towers by artist Bruce Munro, DIMENSIONS by the artist collective HYBYCOZO, and collaborations with British composer Nainita Desai.
Proposals are being accepted for the following exhibit areas: Exhibit Area 3 at more than 10,000 square feet, Exhibit Area 8 at more than 42,000 square feet, Exhibit Area 9 at more than 25,000 square feet, Exhibit Area 12 at more than 44,000 square feet, and Exhibit Area 6 at more than 10,000 square feet. Images of each space are available in a visual guide.
Sensorio requires that all submissions incorporate light as a primary medium and be fully activated at night. Artwork that could also be featured in future daytime tours will be considered a plus.
Interested artists must complete a submission form with contact information, the exhibit area or areas selected, a short artist biography, portfolio samples or a website, a concept or description of the proposed installation, an estimated budget, a project timeline with key milestones, technical and site requirements, and a letter of interest outlining artistic motivation.
A live question forum will be held Sept. 18 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. PST. Artists may RSVP by emailing sensorioARTrfp@sensoriopaso.com.
The submission deadline is Oct. 10 at 11:59 p.m. PST. Proposals must be submitted to sensorioARTrfp@sensoriopaso.com with the artist submission form. Proposals missing required information will not be reviewed.
