    New ‘Parent and Me’ cooking series continues with classes on Mexican food

    – Paso Robles Recreation Services will continue its Parent and Me cooking class series this fall at Centennial Kitchen. The program is open to youth ages 7 through 17 with an accompanying adult.

    Instructor Eva Marie Downs will lead the Sept. 3 Mexican cuisine class, where students will prepare rice, refried beans, tacos, tortillas and fresh salsa. The three-hour class includes demonstrations, hands-on practice, recipes, and a meal to enjoy or take home.

    Additional classes are scheduled through the end of the year. Mexican cuisine will be repeated on Oct. 1. A Beginner Baking class will take place Oct. 29. Asian Take Out classes are set for Nov. 5 and Dec. 3.

    Registration is $65 per participant plus a $15 supply fee, payable to the instructor by cash or Venmo. A sibling discount of $15 is available, with a $7 supply fee for siblings. For every two children enrolled, one adult must attend. Closed-toe shoes are required, and participants with long hair should secure it back or wear it up.
