Dune Run & Walk returns to Grover Beach
Course includes sand, dirt trails and wooden boardwalks
– The City of Grover Beach will host the 36th Annual Dune Run & Walk on Sept. 14, featuring a 5K run and walk along the boardwalk and dunes.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the community back for the annual Dune Run & Walk, an event that truly showcases the beauty of our Grover Beach boardwalk, dunes and community,” said Grover Beach Mayor Kassi Dee. “This cherished race offers a fantastic opportunity for both locals and visitors to enjoy our scenic environment while participating in a fun and active event. I’ll be out there on the route as well — hope to see you there.”
The event is open to participants of all skill levels. The course includes soft and hard-packed sand, dirt trails, and wooden boardwalks.
Pre-registration is available online for $30, or $45 with a race t-shirt, and closes Sept. 8. Day-of registration is $36 and opens at 8:15 a.m. T-shirts will be available on race day for $20.
Participants will gather at Beach Plaza, located at the end of West Grand Avenue, starting at 8 a.m. The race will begin at 9 a.m.
An awards ceremony will follow, recognizing the top three finishers in each age group and gender category.
“The Dune Run & Walk is a special way to kick off the fall season, bringing together residents and visitors to enjoy a morning of fitness, fun, and community spirit,” said Grover Beach City Manager Matt Bronson. “I’m grateful to our staff for their hard work in organizing this signature event for the community.”
