Library book group to discuss ‘What Time the Sexton’s Spade Doth Rust’

    – The Paso Robles City Library will host its monthly book group on Sept. 17 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The discussion will focus on What Time the Sexton’s Spade Doth Rust by Alan Bradley.

The title is available in regular and large print and as a book on CD through the Black Gold Library System. It is also available as an eBook and audiobook using the library’s Libby digital platform.

The novel follows Flavia de Luce as she mentors her cousin Undine, who has come to live at Buckshaw after the death of her mother. When Major Greyleigh, a local recluse and former hangman, dies after eating a breakfast of poisonous mushrooms, suspicion falls on the de Luce family’s cook, Mrs. Mullet. Flavia works to prove Mrs. Mullet’s innocence with the help of Dogger, the estate gardener, and Undine. Their investigation leads to a discovery that changes Flavia’s life.
