Paso Robles Library to screen classic movie ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’
Adults invited to Sept. 26 Cinema Club program
– The Paso Robles City Library will host a Cinema Club film screening on Sept. 26.
The event will run from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Story Hour Room at the library. Attendees will view and discuss Frank Capra’s 1944 film Arsenic and Old Lace. Snacks will also be provided.
The 1-hour-58-minute dark comedy follows theater critic Mortimer Brewster, played by Cary Grant, who discovers on his Halloween wedding day that his aunts are murderers. Mortimer and his new bride, Elaine Harper, played by Priscilla Lane, find that his family is more dangerous than he expected.
The Cinema Club takes place on the fourth Friday of each month and ties in with the library’s monthly book group theme. The program is open to adults.
