Woods Humane annual dog festival features contests, vendors, half off adoptions
Wiggle Waggle Fall Festival returns Oct. 25
– Woods Humane Society will host its fifth annual Wiggle Waggle Fall Festival on Oct. 25 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at its San Luis Obispo campus.
The free, fall-themed festival, sponsored by Subaru of San Luis Obispo as part of the Subaru Loves Pets initiative, is expected to draw more than 800 guests. Activities will include kids’ and canine costume contests, photos with Santa Paws by Kelcy Rourke Photography, trick-for-treat training challenges, a stuffed-animal pull, canine carnival games, and the Woods Pup-kin Patch.
A pet fair will feature local vendors and food trucks such as Old SLO BBQ Taco Truck, The Grinning Bear, Paradise Shaved Ice, Waffle on a Stick, and The Caffeinated Cat Café. Additional activities will include face painting. Woods Humane Society will also offer half-off dog and cat adoptions during the event.
The first 80 entrants to RSVP for the costume contest will receive pup-party favors. Prizes will be awarded in each contest category: kids, big dogs, little dogs, and two peas in a pod.

In addition to these landmark achievements, we’re thrilled to have found loving homes for 3,162 dogs and cats last fiscal year,” said Woods CEO Emily L’Heureux. “We can’t wait to celebrate with our friends and supporters at the biggest pet party on the Central Coast in an afternoon of pure tail-wagging fun.”
The festival will be held at Woods Humane Society, 875 Oklahoma Ave., San Luis Obispo. Free public parking will be available at a nearby lot on Oklahoma Avenue and in other designated areas.
