Letter: Both parties must defend open elections
To the editor,
– I am responding to George Phillips response to my comment. He rightly states that he will express his will at the voting box. As, hopefully, every American will. However, speaking of loss of freedoms, our election system, process, and integrity are also under sustained attack.
From gerrymandering to ousted election officials and any other means to rig the outcome. It is absolutely critical for all of us, as a country, Republican and Democrat, to watch this closely and do everything to keep our elections, state and federal, open, unbiased, and fair.

Absolutely!! The right for the citizens to elect their local, state, and federal officers must be done in open, free, and completely transparent way. I agree that our system of defining districts is not fair and reeks of favoritism.
But since our ‘prez’ decided he needed Texas to find him 5 more seats; the I 100%
support the upcoming California ballot to change our districts.
It is way past time to subscribe to the theory of “When they go low – we go high”
Fight fire with fire.
