Update: ECHO to hold groundbreaking for new family resource center

– The El Camino Homeless Organization (ECHO) has announced a revised start time for its upcoming groundbreaking celebration.
The event will now take place at 1 p.m. on Oct. 6.
– A groundbreaking ceremony for El Camino Homeless Organization‘s new Balay Ko Family Resource Center will take place Monday, Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. at 6370 Atascadero Avenue in Atascadero.
The Balay Ko Family Resource Center will be a two-story, 7,200-square-foot building at ECHO’s Atascadero Shelter campus. It will be dedicated to families with children experiencing homelessness. Organizers said the expansion will help address the needs of more than 300 individuals and families currently on the shelter waitlist.
“No RSVP is necessary,” organizers said in the event announcement.
The event is open to the public.
