Shots heard investigation leads to arrest

– The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Santa Maria man early Sunday after responding to a report of shots heard in the 400 block of Indian Knob Road in unincorporated San Luis Obispo.
The incident occurred Sept. 28 at about 12:22 a.m. Deputies located a vehicle matching the description provided by the reporting party. The male driver of the vehicle was uncooperative and was detained after failing to comply with commands, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies found a firearm inside the vehicle and recovered spent shell casings at the scene.
The suspect, identified as Miguel Andy Martinez, 24, of Santa Maria, was arrested and booked on charges of resisting or delaying a peace officer, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, and carrying a loaded firearm in public.
No injuries were reported. Deputies secured the area, and authorities said there is no ongoing threat to public safety. The case remains under investigation.
