Assisted living community hosting Halloween trunk or treat event
Event will take place in the facility’s parking lot and is open to families and children in the community
– Creston Village Assisted Living will host its second annual Trunk or Treat on Oct. 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. The event will take place in the facility’s parking lot and is open to families and children in the community.
Children will be able to collect candy from decorated car trunks, and families can stay afterward to enjoy hot dogs and drinks. Residents, families, staff, and volunteers will decorate their vehicles, each with a different Halloween theme. Costumes are encouraged.
“Last year’s event was a favorite for residents here in our community. Seeing a parade of kids tromping through the dining room on their way to fill buckets with candy brought plenty of smiles,” said Executive Director Adam Bramwell. “Then, families stayed and relaxed in our courtyard to enjoy a quick and easy dinner of grilled hot dogs and chips to play with old and new friends.”
This year’s event will also raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease. Creston Village will make a donation to its Alzheimer’s Walk team in November.
“At Creston Village, we have an active group of residents who live in our Connections neighborhood,” Bramwell said, referring to the facility’s 15-apartment memory care community serving those with dementia. “This year, we know families will have a great time—and we’re glad also to lend support to the Alzheimer’s Association.”
