Templeton Eagles stay undefeated with win over San Luis Obispo
– The Templeton Eagles remain undefeated. The Eagles football team beat the San Luis Tigers 48-7 Friday night in Templeton.
The Tigers scored the first touchdown with two long pass receptions. Junior Grady Garrison caught a 43-yard touchdown pass to put the Tigers ahead in the first quarter. After that score by the Tigers, the Eagles dominated.
Jr. Quarterback Colton Tannehell completed 8 of 14 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Tyler Cunningham rushed 20 times for 262 yards and 4 touchdowns.
With the victory, the Eagles improve to 8-0 for the season. Templeton will host Nipomo next Friday. That’s the final home game of the regular season. It will be Senior’s Night. The Titans are 5-3, but 2-0 in conference play. Their final game will be at 3 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 30, in Lompoc against Cabrillo. The Conquistadores are 6-2 for the season, 1-1 in league play.
Friday night, the Templeton seniors who play with the band were honored on Band Seniors’ Night.
