Annual Turkey Trot returns to Atascadero Lake Park on Thanksgiving

5K run and walk open to all ages

    – The seventh annual Turkey Trot will take place on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 27, at Atascadero Lake Park. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m., and the fun run and walk start at 9 a.m.

The event is a 5K run and walk open to all ages. Participants are encouraged to bring friends, family, and pets, and to wear turkey-themed costumes.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the El Camino Homeless Organization, also known as ECHO. The suggested donation is $20 per participant. Every dollar raised will be matched by the B Loved Foundation.

Funds support ECHO’s programs, including 130 shelter beds in Atascadero and Paso Robles, one-on-one case management, daily meals, homeless prevention funds, and programs focused on financial literacy and workforce development.

Organizers said the annual event brings the community together in support of individuals and families working toward long-term stability and housing in San Luis Obispo County.
