Deputy, residents rescue dog trapped in mud at Lake Nacimiento

Deputy used makeshift bridge to free stranded animal

    – A San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputy and local residents rescued a 16-year-old dog that was trapped in the mud at Lake Nacimiento on Monday.

The dog, named Jagger, was stuck in the mud while coyotes circled nearby. A deputy on patrol arrived at the scene and, with help from residents who recognized Jagger from social media posts the previous day, built a makeshift bridge to reach and free the dog.

After the rescue, Jagger was cleaned, fed treats, and reunited with his family.

The Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude for the quick response of the deputy and the assistance of the local community in helping bring the dog to safety.
