Virtual event explores artificial intelligence, job growth, small business trends
– California State Treasurer Fiona Ma will take part in an online discussion about the state’s economic future and the role of artificial intelligence on Monday, Dec. 1, from 5 to 6 p.m. The virtual event is hosted by Albert’s List, a statewide career and job search community founded by Central Coast entrepreneur Albert Qian.
The event, titled “California State Treasurer Fiona Ma: Fireside Chat on the 2026 California Economy,” will focus on how the state plans to navigate an evolving economy shaped by artificial intelligence, changing job markets, and workforce priorities.
As California adapts to global changes in technology, sustainability, and industry, Ma will share insights on the state’s economic outlook, including sectors expected to grow and how professionals and small businesses can prepare for 2026.
“California is always on the leading edge of innovation, but that also means we face new challenges first — from artificial intelligence to workforce adaptation,” said Albert Qian, founder of Albert’s List. “This fireside chat will help professionals and job seekers understand where the state’s economy is heading, what state leaders are doing, and how they can align their careers with emerging opportunities.”
Topics will include how artificial intelligence is reshaping jobs and productivity, areas of expansion in infrastructure, clean energy, technology and healthcare, and state programs designed to support small businesses and workforce development. Ma will also discuss how the state is building economic resilience through innovation and inclusion.
The event comes as professionals across California face an economy influenced by high interest rates, rapid technological change and new investment in workforce development.
Albert’s List, founded in 2013, has supported more than 50,000 job seekers and professionals through online workshops, networking events and programs focused on career advancement and artificial intelligence literacy.
The fireside chat is free and open to the public. Registration is available online at Eventbrite.
