Event raises $900 for the 113-year-old organization

    – The Templeton Women’s Charitable Club (TWCC) received $900 from a Fashion Exchange conducted on Thursday afternoon at Upscale Resale. The 113-year-old Templeton Women’s Charitable Club was the sole recipient of the fundraising event.

Women each brought a collection of up to 15 garments, jewelry, or household items in a bag. Each woman also donated $20 to the TWCC. In addition, many women donated a bottle of good local wine. The wine was raffled off during the two-hour exchange. A few bottles were opened during the frenetic get-together at Upscale Resale on Main Street in downtown Templeton.

“We’re thrilled with the turnout and enthusiasm,” said MeShawn Dino, President of the Templeton Women’s Charitable Club.

“Thanks to everyone who helped develop and conduct the event,” Tamara Stavrianoudakis said. Tamara is the owner of Upscale Resale and an enthusiastic supporter of the women’s club. “We appreciate the support by radio station K-Jewel 1400 am to promote the Exchange.”

Television station KSBY also covered the event which was held from 4-6 Thursday afternoon.

    KSBY interviews the organizers.

Laurie Brooks of the Templeton Historical Society says, “Over the past century, the Templeton Women’s Charitable Club donated thousands of dollars to support the families, women, and children of our community. Through bake sales and cake walks, quilt sales and BBQ dinners, the women’s club raised money to help those in need in the greater Templeton area. We appreciate the support of this event to further their efforts.”
