Caliza Winery: new location, new ambiance
– Carl Bowker’s Caliza Winery has been a leader in the wine industry for nearly twenty years (opening in 2008) in Paso Robles, earning respect and top reviews from leading critics and publications, and of course, the true test: support from visitors who say wow! Always looking ahead with a “how can I keep improving” attitude and offering more to Caliza followers, Carl made a major move just over a year ago! And what a move it was.
During Labor Day weekend 2024, Caliza relocated to a new spot on Peachy Canyon Road, and what an inviting place it is!
This new, spacious location offers visitors many options. Come and enjoy tasting inside the tasting room, at the pouring bar, or sit at one of the comfortable tables. On a nice day, sit outside, where you have plenty of choices.
- Enjoy a wine tasting on the patio right outside the tasting room, while taking in the view of the surrounding property, the oak trees, and the gentle breeze from the warming sun.
- Or, choose another spot on the property, such as a table under a tree, where you can enjoy a glass or a bottle (but no tasting off the patio area), and bring a picnic lunch while you relax with the wines and the surrounding serenity.
- Caliza also offers cheese pairings from Vivant Fine Cheese in Paso and chocolate pairings from Mama Ganache Artisan Chocolates in SLO to enhance your experience.
This expansive property, truly “in the country with a country feel,” provides Caliza with more options for its fans:
- Wine dinners at the on-site winery, which is used as an entertainment venue.
