Atascadero Police swear in new officer 

– The Atascadero Police Department announced that Officer Nate Lehr was sworn in after graduating from Class 130 at the Allan Hancock Police Academy.

According to the department, Lehr graduated earlier in the day and was immediately sworn in as the newest officer to join the agency. His father, Commander Ricky Lehr of the Paso Robles Police Department, pinned his badge during the ceremony.

Lehr grew up in north San Luis Obispo County and previously served in the United States Marine Corps. He will begin the department’s field training program next week. The agency stated that community members are welcome to wave and say hello when they see him patrolling in town.
