– California Republican Party Chairwoman Corrin Rankin spoke Thursday night to San Luis Obispo County Republicans at the annual Lincoln Dinner in San Luis Obispo. Rankin is the former Vice-Chair of the California Republican Party and served on the Black Voices for Trump Advisory Board in 2020.
Rankin told 130 local Republicans and a few Democrats at the Madonna Inn that the GOP is “On Offense.” She said the party has registered 250,000 new Republican voters in California. She says the GOP is preparing for a good showing in 2026.

Former Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham welcomed the attendees to the Venetian Room. Cunningham is the president of the Lincoln Club.
Besides Rankin and Cunningham, speakers included Supervisor John Peschong, County Assessor Tom Bordonaro, and supervisorial candidate Adam Verdin, who is challenging Jimmy Paulding in South County’s District Four. Verdin is a lifelong county resident. He grew up in Oceano working at his family’s iconic restaurant, Old Juan’s Cantina. Verdin is also a pilot and an attorney.
