    – The City of Atascadero is now accepting band applications for the 2026 “Saturday in the Park” summer concert series, organized by the city’s community services department.

The 23rd annual series will feature seven concerts held at the Atascadero Lake Bandstand on June 20 and 27, July 11 and 25, and Aug. 1, 8, and 15. Concerts run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and are free to the public. No concerts will be scheduled on July 4 or July 19.

Each concert typically draws an average attendance of 500 people. Bands selected for the series will receive a one-time stipend of $500. The city will also provide an audio technician for each concert.

In addition to the summer concert series, band submissions will be considered for other city signature events throughout 2026. Selected performances will be promoted through radio and digital advertising, social media, city websites, and printed materials.

Applications are due by Friday, Jan. 30, at 5 p.m. Late applications will not be accepted. Applications may be submitted by email, by mail or in person.

Mailed applications should be sent to City of Atascadero, Recreation Division, Attn: Larisse Lopez, 5599 Traffic Way, Atascadero, CA 93422. Applicants may also hand-deliver materials to Colony Park Community Center, 5599 Traffic Way, which is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For questions, applicants may contact Larisse “Reese” Lopez, recreation supervisor, at (805) 470-3362 or email an electronic press kit to llopez@atascadero.org.
