Police arrest massage therapist after reported sexual battery
Detectives said they believe there may be additional unidentified victims
– The San Luis Obispo Police Department arrested a massage therapist after investigating a reported sexual battery incident at Powersource Chiropractic, according to police.
Police said they were made aware on Dec. 15 of an incident that occurred at the business involving a suspect who was working there as an independent massage therapist.
The victim reported that while receiving a massage, Malcolm Sears touched her inappropriately several times, police said. The reported touching was outside massage therapy standards and was believed to be sexual in nature, according to police.
After receiving the report, officers responded to Sears’ residence, contacted and interviewed him, and arrested him without incident, police said. He was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of felony sexual battery by fraudulent representation, under Penal Code 243.4(c).
Detectives said they believe there may be additional unidentified victims.
