City seeking volunteers for Point-in-Time Count

Data supports local planning and state and federal funding efforts

    – The City of Paso Robles is partnering with the County of San Luis Obispo to conduct the annual Point-in-Time Count, a one-day count of individuals experiencing sheltered and unsheltered homelessness in the community.

The 2026 Point-in-Time Count will take place Tuesday, Jan. 27, beginning at 5:30 a.m. Volunteers will depart from designated logistics centers throughout San Luis Obispo County. In advance of the count, warming centers will be activated countywide on the night of Jan. 26.

The count is conducted annually by the County of San Luis Obispo. Data collected during the Point-in-Time Count is used to inform local planning efforts and allows the county to compete for state and federal funding to prevent and address homelessness.

The county and the City of Paso Robles are seeking volunteers to assist with the count. The County of San Luis Obispo is offering an opportunity for individuals who want to participate specifically within Paso Robles city limits.

Additional information and volunteer sign-ups are available at slocounty.gov/pitcount.
