Central Coast Zoo hosting new Valentine’s Day celebration, ‘Woo at the Zoo’
– The City of Atascadero and the Central Coast Zoo will host a new Valentine’s Day event titled Woo at the Zoo on Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Atascadero Lake Park.
The event will feature keeper talks focused on animal mating behaviors, along with Valentine’s-themed activities and animal enrichment scheduled throughout the event hours. Activities are included with general admission and are free for zoo members.
The Central Coast Zoo houses nearly 100 animal species representing more than 300 animals, including red pandas, monkeys, fossa, meerkats, parrots, and a variety of reptiles. The zoo is located at Atascadero Lake Park, one mile west of the 101 Freeway at Highway 41 and Morro Road.
