Volunteers to host free January garden workshop
Event covers pruning, pests, and seed planning at Uptown Family Park
– Paso Robles Recreation Services volunteers will host a free public garden workshop at the Uptown Family Park Community Garden on Saturday, Jan. 24, from 10–11 a.m.
The workshop will take place at Uptown Family Park, located at 641 36th St. in Paso Robles. The event is open to participants of all ages and does not require registration. Families are welcome to attend.
The workshop will focus on preparing a January garden and will cover topics including seed catalog browsing, pruning, and pest management. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions about any garden-related topics.
The community garden has been revitalized through the efforts of local volunteers and currently includes fruits and vegetables, cutting flowers, ornamentals, and common species used in Central Coast landscaping.
The workshops are held on the fourth Saturday of each month. Each session features a specific topic, while allowing time for general gardening questions.
“We are thrilled to bring this hands-on, educational workshop to the community garden and create a welcoming space for learning and connection,” said Wyatt Lund, volunteer coordinator. “These workshops are a great opportunity for residents to gather, grow, and appreciate the beauty of gardening together.”
