Community golf tournament to support Georgia Brown students, teachers
Event also marks first anniversary of Georgia Brown Dad’s Club
– The Georgia Brown Dad’s Club announced its first annual charity golf tournament to support students and teachers at Georgia Brown Dual Immersion School.
The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, at Hunter Ranch Golf Course in Paso Robles. The event will raise funds for student enrichment, classroom resources, and programs at the school, including fifth grade science camp and the robotics club.
Golfers can register as foursomes, twosomes, or single players for $175 per player. The tournament will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and will include a putting contest, longest drive, and closest-to-the-pin competitions, cash prizes, raffle drawings, and $200 hole sponsorship opportunities for local businesses.

The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, at Hunter Ranch Golf Course in Paso Robles.
Registration is available online here.
The event also marks the first anniversary of the Georgia Brown Dad’s Club, which was founded to increase father involvement and strengthen school-community connections. The group has hosted fundraisers and supported school events, including a Santa Maria-style tri-tip barbecue fundraiser, Fiesta de Octubre, STEAM Night, and Open House.
“They’ve proven there are no limits to what our dads can do,” said Courtney Perales, parent-teacher organization president. “From cooking and serving to washing dishes and setting up events, they’re willing to jump in wherever needed to support students and teachers. They have been an integral part of connecting dads to campus.”
Through the broader efforts of the Georgia Brown parent teacher organization, with volunteer and fundraising support from the Dad’s Club, student opportunities have been funded, including the return of fifth grade science camp after nearly a decade, the launch of a robotics club that will compete in the state championship in March, and classroom improvements, field trips, and family events across grades transitional kindergarten through seventh grade.
“These programs give our students opportunities they might not otherwise have,” said Drew Hutcheson, leader of the Dad’s Club and member of the Georgia Brown parent-teacher organization. “This tournament allows the broader community to directly invest in experiences that shape our kids’ confidence, leadership, and academic growth.”
Proceeds from the tournament will support enrichment programs, field trips, classroom support, and learning opportunities for the 790 students enrolled at Georgia Brown Dual Immersion School.
The event is open to golfers of all skill levels. Community members can form teams, and businesses can participate through hole sponsorships.
Georgia Brown Dual Immersion School is a bilingual education school in Paso Robles that began in 1998. The school provides a dual-language curriculum designed to promote academic achievement, cultural awareness, and fluency in English and Spanish.
