    – FARMstead ED announced the launch of a new SLO County Farm Trail website and map, and also its designation as a 501(c)(5) nonprofit organization.

The updated website includes an interactive digital map designed to help users locate farms, ranches, and artisan producers throughout San Luis Obispo County. A printed 2026 SLO County Farm Trail map is available at farm trail member locations, visitor bureaus, chambers of commerce, and hotels across the county.

“We are excited to unveil the new look and feel of our website and trail map,” said FARMstead ED Founder and Herd Boss Lynette Sonne. “Our mission is to connect visitors and locals to the heart of our community’s farmers and makers, and these new tools make it simple to explore, learn, and support local agriculture.”

The organization said its new nonprofit designation will allow it to expand efforts to connect people with locally grown and produced goods. FARMstead ED has operated for more than 12 years as a not-for-profit organization, reinvesting proceeds into the development and promotion of the SLO County Farm Trail. Officials said the transition to a 501(c)(5) nonprofit will support public education, promotion of farming practices, and community connections.

The farm trail includes locations throughout San Luis Obispo County where visitors can meet farmers, ranchers, and artisans and learn about agricultural production in the region.

More information, the digital map, and additional details are available at www.farmsteaded.com.
