    Obituary of Dion Morrison, 49

    Dion Morrison

    Dion Morrison.

    – Dion Morrison, born March 23rd, 1976, passed away on February 16th, 2026, surrounded by the love of those who knew him best. Though his life included seasons of struggle, Dion will be remembered most for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, and the genuine warmth he showed to everyone he encountered.

Dion was a man of good style and an old-school soul who loved ’80s & ’90s hip-hop. He never met a stranger, his friendly nature, easy smile, and open heart made him instantly likable to all. Known by many as “Roc,” Dion was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it meant washing cars, helping with home projects, running errands, or cooking a meal for someone in need. He had a special love for playing dominoes and never hesitated to slam the table with pride when he dominoed.

He spent his childhood in Pomona, California, where he played alongside his siblings and cousins, building memories that shaped his love for family and connection. As a teenager, Dion moved with his family to Paso Robles, California, where he formed friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Dion is survived by his beloved son, Evin; his loving mother, Gayle Lavender; his younger sister, Angela; and his brother, Aronis and his Grandmother, Della Brown. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who will forever cherish his memory.

Those who knew Dion knew his generosity and joy for life. He was caring, compassionate, and always up for an adventure, whether that meant a spontaneous outing, a road trip, or gathering loved ones around the grill. He especially loved barbecuing and spending meaningful time with his family, moments that brought him true happiness.

Dion held a strong faith in Christianity, finding comfort, hope, and strength in his relationship with God. His faith remained an important part of who he was and guided him through both joyful seasons and difficult challenges.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ricky Morrison; his grandmother, Inez Landry; his grandfather, Willie Landry; his stepfather Bernard Lavender; and several beloved aunts and uncles.

Dion’s journey was not without hardship, including struggles that at times kept him away. Even so, he was more than his struggles. He will be remembered for his compassion, his laughter, his helping hands, and the love he shared so freely with those around him.

Dion will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

    Hebrews 4:16

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

    John 5:14

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”

    “God Saw You Getting Tired”

    God saw you getting tired,

And a cure was not to be,

So He put His arms around you

    And whispered, “Come to Me.
