From the Heart Animal Sanctuary hosts open house March 28
– From the Heart Animal Sanctuary will hold an open house on Saturday, March 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 6195 Vista de Robles Pl. in Paso Robles.
Admission is free, though donations are accepted. Attendees are asked to RSVP to Leslie Thomas at fromtheheartanimalsanctuary@gmail.com. Dogs are not permitted at the event.
The sanctuary was founded by Leslie and Joe Thomas and is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing permanent homes for animals, particularly Siberian Huskies, as well as animals surrendered by their owners. The sanctuary currently houses eight horses, 18 goats, four donkeys, an alpaca named Tinty, five mini-ponies, five sheep, 21 Siberian Huskies, and numerous cats.
Located on the Fat Goat Farm in Paso Robles, the sanctuary serves as a permanent home for unwanted or medically fragile animals. The animals also serve as subjects for children’s art classes. Joe Thomas uses the animals to teach children ages 5–12 about the physical and behavioral characteristics of each animal, which the children then draw and paint.
From the Heart Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. For more information, visit fromtheheartanimalsanctuary.org or call (805) 610-2149.
