City announces weed abatement inspections starting May 12
Inspections will cover entire properties, not just front yards
– Paso Robles Fire & Emergency Services is reminding residents and property owners about the city’s Weed Abatement Ordinance as fire season approaches.
The ordinance is intended to reduce fire hazards caused by vegetative growth and the buildup of combustible debris.
Property inspections are scheduled to begin on May 12. Property owners are required to maintain their entire properties, not just front yards, in compliance with the ordinance’s standards.
Officials said the requirements apply to all areas of a property and are aimed at reducing fire risks to individual properties, as well as neighboring homes.
Residents with questions or those seeking information about contractors who perform weed abatement and lot cleaning can contact the department at (805) 227-7560.
