Paso Robles High School selects students for upcoming cosmetology program
School is also seeking applicants for its first cosmetology instructor position
– Paso Robles High School has selected 28 students for its inaugural cosmetology cohort, marking the launch of a new career technical education pathway set to begin this fall.
The three-year program will prepare students to become licensed cosmetologists. By graduation in 2029, students in the cohort will complete 1,000 hours of salon training required to take the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology exam.
School officials said students who complete the pathway will save about $25,000 each in tuition and materials compared to attending cosmetology school after high school. Graduates of the program will be eligible for employment at salons across California without student loan debt.
The cosmetology pathway is the newest addition to the school’s career technical education offerings, which are designed to provide students with skills and industry certifications for post-graduation opportunities.
The school will announce a future opening date for the on-campus salon.
Paso Robles High School is also seeking applicants for its first cosmetology instructor position. Interested applicants can review the job description and apply here.
